What it is LIFTa Teens’ Volleyball is a non-competitive community sports programme for young people. Launched as a pilot programme in June 2026, it provides regular volleyball training, team activities and positive social interaction in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment. The programme is not primarily focused on competition or high-performance results. Young people with different levels of experience are encouraged to participate together. Sessions include basic volleyball skills, teamwork exercises, group activities and friendly games. Through sport, participants can develop confidence, build friendships and experience a stronger sense of connection and belonging. Purpose and goals The programme aims to:
Encourage young people to stay active and develop healthy exercise habits;
Improve physical coordination and fundamental volleyball skills;
Build teamwork, communication, responsibility and mutual support;
Provide a safe and positive social environment for teenagers;
Connect young people from different cultural backgrounds;
Strengthen confidence, participation and community belonging.
Who it is for The programme is mainly designed for:
Young people aged 12–16;
Teenagers who are interested in volleyball but may not have formal training experience;
Young people who would like to stay active, learn teamwork and meet new friends;
Participants from all cultural and language backgrounds.
No advanced volleyball experience is required. Beginners and players with some previous experience are equally welcome. How the programme works Sessions are generally held once a week during the school term and run for approximately two hours. Activities may include:
Warm-up and basic fitness activities;
Serving, passing, setting and hitting skills;
Teamwork and communication exercises;
Group games and friendly matches;
Participant feedback and group reflection.
The programme is supported by coordinators, volunteers and people with relevant sports or community experience. 2026 Term 3 programme details

Parents and community support Parents and caregivers are encouraged to support young people in maintaining regular participation, arriving on time and developing positive habits around teamwork and practice. Community volunteers are also welcome to assist with registration, venue setup, session support, photography and programme coordination. Volunteer involvement helps us provide a safer and more supportive experience for young participants.
