Board of Trustees The Families Growth and Thrive Charitable Trust (FGTCT/LIFTa) is a registered charity committed to supporting the well-being and integration of migrant families in Aotearoa New Zealand. The Trust is governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees. Our trustees are responsible for guiding the organisation’s long-term vision, upholding our mission and values, and ensuring sound governance and strategic direction. They bring a diverse range of professional and lived experience, and work closely with our operational team to support sustainable, community-driven initiatives that empower families to grow, connect, and thrive. Kim Jin – Trustee & Chairperson Kim Jin is an experienced artist and community arts leader based in Auckland’s East Coast Bays. Originally from Beijing, she moved to New Zealand in 2014. With nearly 20 years of art teaching and creative practice, Kim works across clothing design, digital art, ceramics, and more. As Chairperson of LIFTA, she has led a range of community-based art programs that support cultural expression and connection. Her work is highly valued by local families, especially within migrant communities. Haiying Dong, Trustee Haiying is a registered social worker and certified counsellor with 15 years of experience in cross-cultural family support. She holds a Master’s in Applied Social Work from Massey University and a Bachelor’s from Fudan University. A certified parenting educator in both New Zealand and the U.S., Haiying specializes in cultural adaptation, relationship building, and conflict resolution for migrant families. She provides practical, culturally responsive guidance for parents, couples, and youth. Carol (Manyi) Zhong, Trustee Carol Zhong is a practising lawyer with over 10 years of experience in commercial and property law. Admitted to the High Court of New Zealand in 2008, she is also a certified AML/CFT compliance officer. Carol brings valuable legal expertise to the Trust, particularly in governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance. Her professional insight supports the Trust’s operational integrity and long-term development. Carol Zhong是一名执业律师,拥有超过10年的商业及房地产法律从业经验。她于2008年获准为新西兰高等法院出庭律师,并具备反洗钱与反恐融资(AML/CFT)合规官认证。Carol为LIFTA新西兰家庭成长基金会在治理结构、法律合规与风险管理方面提供专业支持,助力机构稳健发展与规范运作。
Rebecca Guo, Trustee Rebecca came to New zealand in 2001 to study Finance and Marketing at Waikato University. She was a member of PTA for four years while her kids were studying at an international school in Beijing,China. She started to take part of some programs organized by Families Growth and Thrive Charitable Trust since 2022. With interests in art, she is in charge of the “walk into life” program since this year. She is dedicated to contribute her time and expertise to LIFTA as a trustee. Rebecca于2001年来到新西兰,在怀卡托大学学习金融与市场营销。在她孩子就读于中国北京的一所国际学校期间,她曾担任家长教师协会成员达四年之久。自2022年起,她开始参与由新西兰家庭成长基金会组织的一些项目。由于对艺术感兴趣,她从今年开始负责“脚步丈量 生活之美”项目。她致力于以Trustee的身份,贡献自己的时间和专业知识,为LIFTA新西兰家庭成长基金会贡献力量。
Elaine Hu, Trustee Elaine Hu is a resident of Remuera and previously lived in Browns Bay for years. Before immigrating to New Zealand, Elaine worked in the education industry in Beijing China for over 12 years. After relocating to New Zealand, she transitioned into brand communication and strategic planning, while continuing her passion for education and community service. Elaine has actively participated in initiatives that support migrant families, drawing from her own journey of cultural integration and engaging with local community. As a trustee, she is committed to helping new immigrants integrate more confidently into New Zealand society, grow personally, and build strong, happy families in this beautiful new land. Dora Yang, Trustee Dora came to NZ in 2002 for studying. She graduated from her first degree in Bachelor of Arts and went on further study in Early Childhood Education. Dora has been working closely with young children and their families for 10 years while she establishing her own family. She believes learner are teachers and teacher are learners along her parenthood journey. During COVID, her children inspired her resume studying in Human Resource Management. She enjoys reading, cooking and biking with her husband and two beautiful children when there’s chance. She is friendly, enjoys having conversations with people and yet also love time being along to reflect. Dora is looking forward to support LIFTa families and contribute to our communities in the future. Dora于2002年来到新西兰学习。她在取得文学学士学位后,继续深造幼儿教育。Dora在建立自己的家庭时,已经与幼儿群体及其家庭密切合作了10年。她相信,在她为人父母的旅程中,学习者就是老师,老师亦是学习者。在Covid期间,她的孩子激发了她学习人力资源管理的经历。她喜欢和丈夫以及两个漂亮的孩子一起阅读、烹饪和骑自行车。她友好、爱与人交谈,但也喜欢与人一起反思。Dora期待着支持LIFTA新西兰家庭成长基金会,并在未来为我们的社区做出贡献。
